[Italian Lesson] Tipsy, buzzed, drunk, or hammered?

In vino veritas.

What happens when you drink wine?

Italians would say that you tell the truth. They get that sentiment from a phrase in Latin - In vino veritas.

It literally means ‘in wine lies the truth.’

They say it:

  • Quando qualcuno è brillo - When someone is tipsy

  • Quando qualcuno è alticcio - When someone is buzzed

  • Quando qualcuno è ubriaco - When someone is drunk

  • Quando qualcuno è sbronzo - When someone is hammered

Forte, no? (Cool, right?)
