[Italian Lesson] I'll handle it.

Amore, non preoccuparti. Ci penso io.
1

I sat at a bar located in Piazza di pietra in Rome and watched friends greet each other for aperitivo.

“C’è qualcosa da stuzzicare?” I asked the server.

He smiled at me, “Sì, ci penso io.”

I translated for my mom, “He has snacks for us coming, he says he’ll take care of it.”

“Ci penso io” is one of my most recent favorite phrases. Roughly translated it means, “I’ll handle it.” A more colloquial translation could be, “I got it.”

Another example:

A: Oddio! Ho dimenticato il seggiolino… ancora!! Ora devo fare le scale per la terza volta. - Oh god! I forgot the car seat… again!! Now I have to go up the stairs for the third time.

B: Amore, non preoccuparti. Ci penso io. - Love, don’t worry. I’ve got it.

Have questions about this? All you have to do is hit reply :)

Un abbraccio,

Cher
