[Italian Lesson] Hurry up!

Sono già in ritardo. Possiamo sbrigarci?
1

Cosa dici quando qualcuno ci sta mettendo una vita ad arrivare ad un appuntamento o a prepararsi?

Quando conosci la persona, si può dire: sbrigati!

Si usa il verbo riflessivo ‘sbrigarsi’ che significa:

  • To hurry

  • To get moving

Altri esempi:

  • Dobbiamo sbrigarci perché il treno sta per partire! - We have to get moving because the train is about to leave!

  • Sono già in ritardo. Possiamo sbrigarci? - I’m already late. Can we make this quick?

  • Sto morendo di fame! Puoi sbrigarti a prepararti così possiamo andare a cena? - I’m dying of hunger. Can you hurry up and get ready so we can go to dinner?

Avete delle domande? Scrivetemi!

Un abbraccio,

Cher

Visciola: Sour cherry

A BOOK I JUST READ

Natalia, a subscriber, recommended that I read The Venice Sketchbook by Rhys Bowen. I loved the blend of espionage, WWII history, romance, and Venetian culture. Next from Natalia’s list? Still Life by Sarah Winman.
