Note on pronunciation: I pronounced "significa" incorrectly! Per usual, there is always something new to learn and all of you help me learn it :)

Here's how to correctly pronounce it: https://forvo.com/search/significare/it/

I’m thrilled with all these book recommendations! I am reading “La Bella Lingua” by Dianne Hales, an italophile who writes in both a humorous and academic style. A delightful book about culture, art and history.

Good luck with your decision Cher. You seem, to me, to be a person with enough drive to conquer anything!

If you haven’t read “ Beautiful Ruins” yet, I highly recommend it. It is set in a town that wanted to be the 6th Terra of Cinque Terre fame. Life there is slow, but is upended when a group of movie people show up during the filming of Cleopatra. Richard Burton even makes an appearance . Beautiful, sad, and wonderfully written.

Ciao, Buona Fortuna,

Andrew

I assume “Under the Tuscan Sun” has long ago been included in your reading.

I actually have only ever watched the movie! Maybe it's time to read the book.
