Mistakes were made (and they were made by me)

Last week, I made a minor error in this lesson (e.g il foto should have been la foto - FACE PALM), and I didn’t catch it because life is chaotic right now AND because my native Italian editor, Irene, didn’t get a chance to put her eyes on it.

I know this isn’t the first time I’ve published a mistake. (None of which are related to Irene, by the way. She is a stickler for detail, and I need her in my life always.)

The reality is that I’m not a native speaker, and I’m not perfect… nor do I pretend to be. So much of what inspired this site came from me wanting to share all of the cool phrases and words I was learning with a community of people passionate about the Italian language in real time. I championed courageous action over perfection, and we had so much fun learning together.

Over the years — 11 to be exact — it feels like I’ve gotten away from that initial motivation, and I want more than ever to return to it. But that’s a conversation for a different day :)

In an effort to keep upcoming content mistake-free, I’m skipping the next two weeks so we can get a number of new lessons edited for you — ones that are 100% grammatically correct and fun.
