[Italian Lesson] I can’t think of his face!
Non riesco a collegare una faccia.
You know that moment when you’re talking to a friend and she mentions an actor or an actress that you know but can’t remember?
In English, we say something along the lines of, “I can’t think of his face!”
Buuuuut, what do you say in Italian? It’s similar, but of course, slightly different, haha.
You would say: Non riesco a collegare un volto/una faccia. - I can’t connect the face (to the name).
An example :)
A: Questo weekend ho visto quel film Tag, è stato così divertente! L’hai visto? - This weekend I saw that movie Tag, it was so funny! Did you see it?
B: Oh, ho sentito dire delle bellissime cose di quel film. E mi piace tantissimo l’attore principale... Jake Johnson! - Oh, I heard some great things about that movie. And I really like that main actor… Jake Johnson!
A: Chi? - Who?
B: Quell’uomo con i capelli castani, che ha avuto un ruolo nella serie New Girl. Te lo ricordi? - That guy with the brown hair, he had a role in the TV show New Girl. Do you remember him?
A: No… non riesco a collegare una faccia. Fammelo cercare su Google. - No… I can’t think of his face. Let me Google him.
